What was I doing?

Sorry friends, I didn't come to my blog almost half a year. What was I busy? Ah......let me tell you...

We had planned to renovate my father-in-law's townhouses in Lucia since the end of 2007. The intention of doing this was his wish to having his retirement home but also we could stay near and keep an eye on him.

The layout of the townhouse originally was not too practical for us therefore we hired someone to change the layout drastically. The process back and forth with the architect and engineers took nearly a year. It was a torturing process, consumed much of our energy......... to supervise the works. We stopped mid way, decided buying our own townhouse (which just a street next to my father-in-law's.) and doing major rectifications on his townhouses.

Thank God, we made a good choice which helps us to save large amount of money. I loved this home at the first sight. We had to compete with another buyer and we got it. We moved in May before a week I backed from Hong Kong.

Moving house was another torture......! Not only the stuffs of our own, but also my father and mother-in-law. We spent 8 hours in moving just the furnitures only. The truck was too full to carry anymore. It's a big job for the removal company. We both exhausted after the week of the removal, ended up limbs, back and shoulder pain for days. We settled, our hearts eventually settled in the home we loved.

However works haven't finished yet.........., my father-in-law's townhouses took us lots of time in identify the problems, meeting engineers and therefore looked up the right candidate to do the job. Anthony did a good job. He is good project manager I dare to say. We helped our parents to minimise the costs.

We are not getting close to finish our works, furthermore on selling..... rental issues we need to deal with. I am longing to have a time rest, a time to relax and take up my paint brush again!
